Simple, Fair Terms

I don’t want to take a percentage of your early profits while you are trying to grow. I only win when you win big. Part of the reason i ask for this is to weed out those who intend to exploit me. It would also help to be paid royalties incase i'm ever sick and unable to make more work, since i don't have a company that covers my medical expenses.

This request is also mainly for larger labels and companies with a high volume of sales, not for independant underground bands that struggle to get by. Yet if you are able to keep tabs and do well, it would be appreciated.

  1. Low Upfront Cost: You pay a one-time fee to use the art. I wont sell the rights to anyone else.
I only ask that you do not sell the image rights to someone for a different project.
I reserve the right to produce prints of my work. This may or may not help me cover up front operational costs. Everything helps though, especially since i so often find myself putting in extra work with no compensation.

  2. Success Milestone: I only ask for a small 5% royalty after the design has earned your brand over $10,000 in gross sales. This ensures you have already made a massive return on your investment before I receive anything extra. This will also help weed out people that are looking to exploit me.

  3. Support for the Future: As an independent artist, these small success milestones are vital. Because I suffer from health issues, as we all do eventually, that can sometimes stop me from creating new work, this "passive income" ensures that I can keep my studio running and continue to provide art to the community even during my "dark" days. By choosing my work, you are directly supporting the longevity of a creator who is in it for the long haul.

Why You’re Making the right Choice

When you buy design from Mark Cooper Art, you're getting a signature style that stands out from other artists, made by someone with over 20 years of experience. Not some slop that looks like it could have been drawn by anyone, especially with all of the ai garbage flooding the internet.

There's a lot of fake artists out there these days. Be sure to check an artists history before you buy from them. If they haven't been around for a decade or longer(before ai), you need to see early work that wasn't up to par. Artist don't instantly come onto the market with pro level work. It takes many years to become that skilled. That's the only viable way to know for sure if you can't tellby looking. If the artist doesn't show development over time, or you see a huge jump from beginner to pro, that's not their work.
